South by Southwest Part II, if you will. Repetitive sentiments of déja vu were experienced yesterday upon yet another trek through the streets of Austin, when after several rounds through the city it began to feel as if I had spotted the same beard and ray-ban clad hippie on the same exact street corner again and again. I quickly realized that everyone in the city bears that resemblance around this time. It's hippie time. Seeing as I myself am against being magnetized into the indie scene, I made sure to make some particular sartorial choices that would slap a hypothetical "hipster not applied" label across the length of my forehead, but I feel my attempts were not as successful as the preppy vibes I gave off on the previous long-haul. No one playing a violin while wearing a wolf costume (I seriously did see that) approached me, so I still feel like my plans at camouflage worked seamlessly.
(asos shirt, calvin klein jeans, zara boots, breil watch)The thrice pictured shirt is a virtual conquest of mine that I scored straight off the substantial queues over at asos. Specifically speaking, in the outlet, which is a detail that still has me chuckling in an evil-like manner with a simultaneous sense of pride. Hooray for not breaking the bank. I felt that juxtaposing said conquest with Calvin jeans would be an appropriate nod to the times here in the city. And then the boots stepped in (hah!) for modern measure. Hooray again for style mixups.
