Picturesque bike-riding. A serious hoot. As if taking part in sporadic strolls round the city bends wasn't outwardly adventurous enough of me (someone pegged me for being a homebody, but what ever do they mean?), propping up my leg over a bike and propelling myself into an onslaught of oncoming traffic is a dangerous reach to daredevil levels. Standing only mere months away from the blog's celebratory second year in existence has me in hyper-active moods, I guess. Don't get me wrong, I'm welcoming the wonderful changes in strides, hence the obligatory and ever-corny grabbing-bike pose that had passerby's puzzled and questioning if I was actually going to assume the driving position, a.k.a. pedal to the metal. I eventually took off, which is why I had to document this brief moment pre-ride as proof that I mustered up the initiative to brave downtown traffic light crossings on a single pair of wheels. I'll stick to sidewalks from now on.

But let me refocus on the point of it all- the sartorial aspects of this particular bike-ride. Layer upon layer upon layer is a triplet I tearfully terminate at the end of the winter season, but at least I exercised the hell out of it this year, so a spastic pat on the back for that one. A double-pat for the pictured combo: jacket upon shirt upon sweater (upon beaten up bike) is no easy feat. But now that winter has subsided, it's time for serious business. I always experience major road bumps when it comes to transitioning for spring and summer, mainly because everything is stripped down and taken back to square one. Square one for me is the basics of summer dressing, which I tend to have difficulty with considering the sun takes up permanent residence the entire season. Only one layer allowed in Austin for the heat rush if you don't want to broil like a mean barbecue. I learned this the hard way in the trials and tribulations of last summer. Well, I'm coming in with guns "blazing" this time around. Puns are in full force!

I literally LOL'ed reading your bike story haha that same thing always happens to me, everytime I ride my bike down streets, I somehow gravitate towards the middle of the road, which equals cars honking at me to move out of the way, which equals to me almost dying :p
