Item on the list of things that never bode well until now: hefty turtleneck. Carolyn Massey pretty much stirred things in the right direction the second she collaborated with ASOS to produce a sweater that's half chimerical, half practical. Given its effectiveness against Manhattan winter a few weeks ago, it's what I would call cotton Mithril were the stuff to exist. The silver ring-lining around the neck and arms was important minutiae, believe it or not, and made it a done deal for me to bag my first neck cozy.

I'm still fighting the urges to feel like an Italian courter (circa Casanova) when throwing this on my back, but maybe that's the initial emotional response to turtlenecks. Am I right?
